Best Small Business 2023 Winners!
2023 has been yet another exciting year for our Distillery.
Continuing as the happy hosts of our Distillery experiences and with the launch of two brand new spirits, we’ve certainly been kept busy! Eager to provide the best possible service for our customers, we’ve loved every minute and seeing the progression we’ve made as a business is such a reward in itself.
However, we are thrilled to be able to announce that this isn’t the only reward we’ve been granted this year…
Last month we were awarded the Best Small Business of 2023 by the Shropshire Chamber of Commerce!
Winning this award was such a huge honour and we are so thankful that all of the love and hard work we put into our business is recognised.
Providing honest, delicious and good-quality spirits has always been our priority at The Shropshire Distillery and we are always so pleased to have feedback that reflects this. Since 2018 we have been driven to create a successful business that fitted in with our family and we really feel like we’re living that dream! All of the hard work and difficult decision-making really is worth it for moments like this.
So while we live on cloud nine for a while, we thought we’d take the opportunity to reflect on the awards that we’ve had the pleasure to receive since our gin journey began...
2019
International Wine and Spirit Competition Awards
After returning from a holiday in the summer of 2019, we were thrilled to find out we had been awarded with not one but two IWSC awards. The International Wine and Spirit Competition truly sets the benchmark for wine and spirit quality worldwide! With over 50 years of experience from world renowned judges, we were honoured to have been recognised and bring home a Bronze IWSC award for our Dry Gin and Silver award for the much lovedAromatic Spiced Gin.
2021
London Spirit Competition
In 2021 we were able to celebrate the success of our four core range gins (at the time) being recognised with the Silver Award from the London Spirit Competition.
The London Spirit Awards is an international competition that considers all areas of a spirit including value, packaging and quality. We were so moved to find that ourDry Gin, Aromatic Spiced Gin, Navy Strength Gin andCherry & Pink Peppercorn Gin were all pronounced winners
International Wine and Spirit Competition Awards
We were also greeted once again by the IWSC awards in 2019 but this time for our Navy Strength Gin which also recognised and awarded a Bronze award!
It really is an honour to be a part of this prestigious group and to receive the following comments from experienced judges;
“Smooth floral notes. Vibrant grapefruit citrus bursts onto the palate, combined with sweetness. A medium to full-bodied gin with a peppery aftertaste."
"Elegant and balanced with lemon and orange peel. Savoury notes, but bright and clean."
The Gin Guide Awards
The success of 2021 really was amazing for us. Already winner at the London Spirit Competition and IWSC, we were also thrilled when our Spiced Gin received Highly Commended at the Gin Guide Awards.
The Gin Guide Awards are a worldwide commemoration of the growing gin industry, giving recognition to the exceptional products, distillery and people within the community. So to be recognised by their expert judges was the cherry on the cake (or gin?) of a victorious year!
2022
Prestige Awards
Still reeling from the success of 2021, we were so excited to be awarded Distillery Of The Year by the Prestige Awards.
Recognising the best small and medium-sized businesses in their market, to be winners of the Prestige Awards was another huge achievement for us. Our business has always been about more than just selling spirits, we are proud to lead5 Star Rated Distillery Experiences, and are thrilled that these and our Distillery as a whole was recognised in this way!
