Every Bottle Has a Story
Every spirit we create begins long before it reaches the bottle.
From carefully selecting botanicals to running our traditional copper stills, every stage of the process is carried out by hand in small batches here in Ellesmere, Shropshire. We use a traditional one-shot distillation method, allowing each botanical to contribute naturally to the finished spirit without relying on artificial flavourings or added sugars.
It’s a slower way of making spirits, but it’s one we believe produces exceptional flavour and consistency.

Whether you’re completely new to gin and spirits or already have a favourite bottle at home, there’s always something fascinating to discover.
Many visitors are surprised by just how much different botanicals influence aroma, flavour and mouthfeel. During our experiences, we explain how ingredients work together, how distillation captures those flavours, and why, here at the Shropshire Distillery, no two recipes are ever quite the same.

More Than Just a Distillery Tour
We believe experiences should be interactive, immersive and engaging and also somewhere you can learn something new without being overwhelmed – every day is a school day remember!
That’s why alongside our guided tours we also offer opportunities to get hands-on, whether that’s creating your own personalised gin or vodka at our Gin & Vodka School or learning how to build balanced cocktails you’ll be able to recreate at home.
Our cocktail sessions focus on understanding flavour rather than complicated techniques, proving that great cocktails don’t need to be difficult to make.

A Place to Slow Down
Life can be busy, but with our monthly Bar night evenings we can help slow things down a little – even if just for a few hours…
A visit to the distillery offers the chance to slow the pace, spend time with family or friends and enjoy something a little different.
Many of our guests arrive thinking they’ll stay for an hour or two and end up chatting long after their experience has finished.
