Wet, Black and Full of Shropshire Spirit

Shropshire Dog's Nose

The inspiration behind our St Patrick's Day cocktail is of course... Guinness.

Sweet smelling with a coffee and malty nose - it's the perfect partner to our AFTER NOON Cold Brew Coffee Liqueur. Both distinctively dark, smooth and perfectly balanced.

We've given our own twist on The Dog's Nose, which dating back to the 19th century was said to be a favourite drink of Charles Dickins. The drink was even featured in one of his most famous works, The Pickwick Papers. Named The Dog's Nose because it is wet and black.

What you'll need:

  • 25ml AFTER NOON Coffee Liqueur
  • 25ml of Shropshire Dry Gin
  • 100ml Cola
  • 100ml Stout
  • Wedge of Lime

How to put it together:

  • Add liqueur, Gin, and Cola into a tall glass with ice.
  • Stir gently to combine
  • Top with 100ml stout
  • Add a wedge of lime and serve in good company

Our very own Dog's Nose, Calla, the distillery dog, can be found most days sitting stag at the front door of the distillery - eagerly waiting your arrival at our tour and experience sessions.

Now we know she hasn't got a black nose but hey, she's part of the team!

However you are spending St Patrick's Day - we hope it's a good one! We'll be having a Shropshire Dog's Nose or two ....
